Where were we? Oh, Friday! FRIDAY! I’m keeping it low key this weekend as it’s back to school time and it’s responsibility season. This is good news as the summer schedule can get a little loose and I’ll tend to sleep in rather than get my booty into the gym. Well, a funny-ish thing happened as I was wrapping up my work day late last night. I got a notification that someone on Substack was impersonating me. They took my profile pic, grabbed one of my notes, followed a bunch of my followers and started DM’ing them.

They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery, but it really does fight the spirit of why I signed up for Substack in the first place. I came here to do random mom brain dumps, share some thoughts, do something fun for 30 minutes when I had a free moment, talk a bit about my fitness journey, write random stories, and yes, have a little bit of fun posting cute pics. All of the above, when I want, and how I want. Like a sexy Burger King, I’m here to have it my way. (I know, super current pop culture reference.)

As I shared in my original post when I signed up, finding my own voice hasn’t always been organic to me, so I came here to mess around with that. Like when a teen finds a journal for a first time or picks up a camera for the first time and just starts creating. Just for fun. It either goes somewhere. Or it doesn’t. It’s not optimized for an algorithm or designed to chase traffic, it’s something I just picked up and said, “Let’s try a thing.”

I had zero idea that after a month on Substack I’d be approaching 850 followers. In fact, I thought it was much more likely that I would have zero followers. I’m an anonymous (at least for now) what the kids would call an “e-girlie.”

I certainly didn’t think anyone would pay for it or that I’d spend time above some of my favorite authors on the rising publications chart and land as high as number 2 on that list. (Squee! Sorry Jane Green!)

I doubt that yesterday will be the last time someone tries to impersonate me here. I understand that “that’s how it goes” but it’s worth knowing that the only places you can currently find me are right here on Substack AND my OnlyLinks where I have Buy Me a Coffee and Throne.

Funny enough, I had been considering adding another link to the mix this week where you’d be able to buy additional photo galleries from me (platform TBD) since that unsurprisingly has been the largest DM request I’ve gotten, especially over the last two weeks. But yesterday threw me off my game enough that I’m still debating the if, when, and where of it all.

Lastly, I don’t know what I’m doing on this platform except for this: I’m just trying to be a human and share a little slice of life with other humans. Substack is one of the few places I’ve found on the internet I’ve found where I feel like I can be a super authentic version of me and the connection with others has been very nice. It still feels like a somewhat undiscovered corner of the internet at a time when the world feels louder than ever and unless I’m mistaken (and after yesterday, I might be), I feel like the community of people who have shown up to support me have largely been super respectful but also been here for the same reason:

Tremendously grateful for a nice weekend though! I made it to the movies - twice! I saw the new Spider-Man movie and also the BDSM sex comedy (a sentence I’ve never written before 🤔) I Want Your Sex. The super hot Olivia Wilde stars in the latter and while the movie wasn’t great, she looked awesome in latex so there’s a silver lining I guess.

Worked out! Snuck in a pool day! Bought groceries! And of course, I spent two and a half hours assembling a dresser with less than stellar instructions included. (Mission accomplished! 🚀)

We certainly had a busy week, didn’t we? Mostly as a challenge to myself, I decided to write five posts this week (was it five?) just to see if I could successfully Write, Mom, and not burn myself all the way out. Truth be told, I did it for a more specific reason. I’m a bit of a systems person, and I find it a bit more effective to organize a lot of stuff at once, so I prepped the photo galleries earlier in the week so that I could just add fresh daily thoughts before posting. This Substackin’ has been a lot of fun, but there’s definitely a lot of mental spread sheeting that happens in my brain along the way (not the fun kind). Funny enough, the picture posting is the hardest part (my fault mostly).

Hey, it’s that time of the week where I post slightly more suggestive photos than usual! Happy Monday! Is that a thing people still say? Do people actually say “Happy Monday?!” When I worked into an office, I felt like that was a thing people said. Like, kind of in an ironic way. Like, I am fundamentally happy that I woke up this morning, but I am less happy that before I even had a cup of coffee this morning, I had a sea of emails asking me to fix other people’s problems.

I am a pretty positive person, but the end of the weekend, does, in fact, bum me all the way out. The weekend was great. I got back on track with my fitness routine. I met up with friends. I went shopping. I did fun things!

Whoops! I got too ambitious with my Substack this week and I couldn’t even keep track of my own intended posting schedule, but when you’re juggling all the things and you suddenly see a dentist appointment that you forgot about until the night before, it’s hard to prioritize dropping butt pics on the timeline. It’s About Time ⏰

As many of ya’ll noticed in my last post, I took a few days out of town over the weekend to recharge. Or maybe you missed that part, because, ya know, it was my best Substack photo gallery…yet!

Now, I’m back to real life and hustling away at the day job. I escaped home for a bit because as I’ve mentioned I’m in the middle of a super busy stretch. No complaints (at least no more than just regular ones!), just working hard to balance all the things. We’re also in prime back-to-school mode so I needed a breather before all the days of 7am wakeups and homemade lunches that go uneaten are upon me.

Mom Brain Thoughts 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was shocked to wake up to 500 subscribers this morning. I don’t even know how! Shocked, but grateful that so many of you need a little Daily Cup of Calli in your life!

While I’m sure most of ya’ll are here for the pics, there’s been a nice outpouring support from those of you who appreciate my cheery disposition and random musings about my day. That’s me! Delightful, weird, and in a crop/tank top.

I was planning on turning on paid subscriptions this week but since my content skews to the spicier side (I guess? 🤷🏻‍♀️) there’s a bit of a lack of clarity for me what I can and can’t do on here. I had been planning on posting some erotic fiction and making that a fun little paid series for anyone interested, but even that seems to be on the border of the rules. Still researching that.

And as for the pics, Substack is likely to remain a PG-13 ish look into my day-to-day life. Some combo of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue/Maxim/Victoria’s Secret catalog, which are all super current pop culture references but the ones that came to my head so that’s what you’re stuck with. 🤣

One of those most unique things about an experience like this is having fans that are all interested in different “fan” experiences. Some of ya’ll want more pics, there’s a lot of chat requests, and there’s been a surprising volume of messages hoping I’ll stop talking about and start posting sexy stories.

What I’ve enjoyed about Substack so far is that it is a place where I can just be a bit messy. There’s no rules really and I’ve just been able to show up here and be me and maybe that’s why I like it. That seems to be an increasingly rare experience (maybe) in an online culture.

For those curious, I sit down, write for about 30 minutes and pick some photos to include. Some new, some old, depending on how I’m feeling each day.

I do love Wednesdays because it always feels like the turning point in the week. I’m pretty laser focused on my day job most of the time and it really has been one of the busiest stretches that I’ve had this year. I enjoy what I do and I’m grateful to work with an amazing team, but the hours are definitely long, and at the height of summer, I definitely value my down time more than ever. Less work, more bikinis please!

I’m super appreciative of the positive reaction to my FAQ yesterday. More than anything, it’s awesome that so many of you have understood that this is a fun way for me to mess around, show off, and just write down what’s on mind.

I’ve also gotten a fair amount of feedback asking what else I’m going to be doing in this space. I actually wrote my first piece of sexy fiction that I have tucked away in the drafts folder, probably until next week or so. I kind of want to take some new photos to go with it and I haven’t had the time. Maybe something more artistic or black and white?

Until then, I’m going to keep posting my WFH fits whenever I have time! I know so many of us are powering away at a desk all day and I think it’s fun to have a little community of folks who just need a smile while grinding out their work day. I hope I’m making your day a bit brighter. 😚

I’ve gotten a fair amount of booty requests, and I will confess, I love showing it off. Squats are my love language and I’ve worked really hard to build up a pretty, round ass. We’ll see if this becomes a regular feature around here, but for now, enjoy a little hump day show! 😽

I am both grateful that my content has resonated with you in a way that you want to message, but also well, busy.

I haven’t shared a lot about me personally to date, but my lack of messaging is pretty much a historical precedence I’ve set. I’m NOT good at texting. Like, genuinely awful at it. Not a good hang in the DMs TBH. Whereas my Substack is kind of like a free-flowing-top-of-my-head-partially-clothed-party, my ability to message is kind of all-time bad. We all have our weaknesses, so there’s mine.

Strengths: Cute smile, looks good in a crop top.

Weakness: Messaging.

I might respond to a DM in the future, I might turn them off completely, or I might enable whatever the heck subscriber chat is, if I can figure out how it works.

In the meantime, I clicked through my messages very quickly I figured I’d answer what I’m going to call “F*ckable Asian Questions” since uh, there seems to be a common theme in the DMs.

Are you AI?

Nope, decidedly not. I use AI for work things, but not these. This is a space to be messy, so I assume you’ll catch some combo of spelling mistakes and general mom-brain as I go on this journey. I wouldn’t ask AI to generate a messy mirror.

Is Calli short for something?

You can’t possibly be in your 40’s!

As a woman who, yes in fact is in her 40s, I can assure you this is literally the last thing that we’d lie about. Mid-40’s even.

Are you actually Asian?

I am! I get this a lot, but a lot of folks seem to doubt it. I know the phone doesn’t help my argument and at first glance, I look a little less Asian as I’ve aged, but yes I am, 50% to be exact.

Can we see more of your pretty little face?

We’ll see. Unsurprisingly this is the most common question/request besides for me to drop my panties to the floor. The M in Milf - like being in my 40’s and Asian is also true, so I’m being both public and private at the same time. Truthfully, I’m not particularly shy or embarrassed to show more face, but I am considering other factors. Frankly, the more respectful people are, both in the comments and DMs, the more likely I am to open up more on Substack.

On with the Show

I had an amazing day by the pool yesterday! It was such a beautiful day after a really hot and humid week, just perfect. Drinks by the pool, fun hanging out with some new girlfriends, and a lot of laughs.

I’m really appreciative when I connect with people who make me feel comfortable in my own skin. As I mentioned last time around, that hasn’t always been my default setting IRL, so hanging with some girlfriends who are cool and have their stuff together is just such a great vibe.

I actually didn’t snap as many pics as I was hoping. TBH, I actually wasn’t feeling my best physically. Work has been taking too much out of me to get in the exercise hustle that my body actually wants, but I actually have a big workout planned for this AM.

I hope these pretty random thoughts and entries brighten your day, but maybe it’s just the photos. Hopefully both LOL!

This space (I think? 🤔) is mostly a place for me to just have some fun and show off a bit, but I can’t say I’ve always been the most comfortable doing that, at least in public fashion. Like a lot of folks, I come from a background where “showing off” was frowned upon, and to that end, I feel like I’ve always held myself back a little bit. I understand now that I’m older that being told to not “show off” was actually more of a reflection of those around me, projecting their insecurities on me.

I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older that I’m the author of my own journey, and that allowing others to hold me back hurts me more than anyone else and that you can “show off” and still be all the other things in life that you want to be.

I wasn’t expecting to get so deep on a Friday, but here we are! Truly wishing you all the best weekend. I’m looking forward to a day by the pool tomorrow, where based on the poll that I’m currently running, you’d all like to see some bikini pics.
